Ilyaz @ B2FS 182

Ilyaz Mamadaliyev is an MMA Professional who fought at B2 182 on May 6. In collaboration with him, we created a content package consisting of Instagram reels (specifically designed to boost his engagement) and a postfight interview, which is provided by his YouTube channel.

Postfight Interview

Reel #1

This first reel was an absolute blast to shoot and create, and it uses a lot of “secret sauce” techniques to deliver not only a polished and professional Instagram presence, but also grab your attention so that you stay engaged. It’s achieving great success so far, and Ilyaz is definitely going to be selling more shirts and tickets as a result of it. Future reels will have embedded Call-To-Actions, to further drive this engagement home.

Reel #2

The second reel is arguably even better. It’s more concise, more intense, with a greater variety of footage. Here we focus on the “crazy” mindset Ilyaz trains with, how he manages to stay so driven and so dedicated.

We’ve also refined our QC processes for Instagram, to get better compression results when the video is displayed, and are working on creating a set of tutorials for clients to improve their ability to post high-quality video that still makes use of Instagram’s professional auto-captioning features, stickers, and the like.

Reel #3

This is a special one. Ilyaz wanted a short ad-ready reel that he could use to collab with other Turkish IG accounts to share exposure, followers, and national pride. He posted it on his IG to the soundtrack of Plevne Marşı and achieved great success.

Reel #4

The first reel to feature footage from a second, follow up shoot we did which focused more on exercise, and also the first reel we did in the proper aspect ratio for Instagram Reels. There are rumors that the Reels algorithm may deprioritize content that’s not in a 9:16 aspect ratio, so getting that right is going to be critical for all of our Instagram-focused projects going forward.

Reel #5

Absolute banger.

UNPUBLISHED REELS

The following reels, unfortunately, did not fit into the content schedule, and as such never appeared on Ilyaz’s IG before the fight. This was mostly due to the effects weight cutting has on a person’s ability to manage social media: like everything else, it completely destroys it. Probably the worst part of combat sports, in our opinion.

Anyways, watch them, they’re very clearly not being left unpublished due to quality. After this, our work with fighters focuses especially on proper content planning and management, and not simply video production, which eliminates these problems. At the end of the day, even fighting is a team sport.
